Combined fleet telematics and environmental monitoring eliminates the second data logger for refrigerated transport — single device in the cab, single NIST-certified sensor in the trailer, single audit-ready record in the cloud.

ZEPHYR COVE, Nev. — May 7, 2026iMatrix Systems, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology company, today announced that its FC-201 plug-and-play OBD-II gateway and FC-501 industrial vehicle gateway now integrate directly with NIST-certified NEO temperature and humidity sensors. The combination gives refrigerated transport operators a single in-cab device that captures both vehicle telematics and traceable cargo-temperature data — and produces FSMA-ready reports without the second data logger most fleets carry today.

One gateway, one sensor, one record

Cold-chain fleets typically run two parallel systems: a telematics box on the engine bus for GPS, hours, fault codes, and driver behavior, plus a separate temperature data logger inside the trailer that has to be downloaded, reconciled, and archived for FSMA Section 204 audits. Two devices, two dashboards, two cellular bills, and a manual stitch step every time a load is delivered.

With this release, an FC-201 or FC-501 in the cab pairs over Bluetooth Low Energy with a NIST-certified NEO-1 or NEO-1D sensor in the trailer. The gateway forwards engine-bus telemetry, GPS, and trailer temperature and humidity to the iMatrix Cloud through a single cellular link, time-synchronized to the same trip record.

Built for FSMA traceability

Each NEO sensor ships with an individually serialized NIST-traceable certificate of calibration, recalibrated on a documented schedule. iMatrix Cloud automatically generates audit-ready reports per trip or per load that include:

Reports export as PDF or CSV and are retained in iMatrix Cloud for the seven-year window FSMA expects for traceability records.

Why one device matters

"Reefer operators have been carrying two boxes for a decade — one for the truck and one for the trailer. We're not adding a third dashboard. We're combining the two they already pay for. One gateway, one NIST-certified NEO, and the FSMA report writes itself when the load is signed off." — Greg Phillips, CEO, iMatrix Systems

Availability and pricing

The integration is available on all FC-201 and FC-501 gateways shipping today and rolls out to deployed units via over-the-air firmware update at no additional cost. NEO-1 and NEO-1D sensors with NIST certification are available through the iMatrix online store and authorized resellers. See pricing for current bundle options, including the new Cold-Chain Reefer Bundle: one FC-201 or FC-501, one NIST-certified NEO, and an optional Sentry-1 door sensor at a single fleet rate.
