About iMatrix Systems

We design and build the hardware and cloud that fleet operators and environmental-monitoring teams rely on — founded on the principle that the operator who owns the asset should own the data it generates.

How iMatrix started.

iMatrix Systems launched from stealth in 2016 with a smart-sensor platform built around a single observation: the IoT industry was optimizing for vendor lock-in, not operator outcomes. Sensors couldn't talk to competing clouds. Fleet telematics contracts treated raw data as proprietary. Recalibration cycles were designed to force hardware refreshes.

Our founding team — hardware and firmware engineers from the cellular, automotive, and industrial IoT worlds — built iMatrix on the opposite assumptions. Sensors should expose their data in standard formats. Gateways should be swappable. Cloud dashboards should export everything, on demand, in JSON your own systems can ingest. Hardware should last long enough that you're not re-buying on a 3-year cycle.

A decade later, those principles still define the product line. The customers we keep longest are the ones who chose us because of them.

Two product lines, one cloud, one philosophy.

Three principles you'll feel on every invoice.

1. You own the data.

Every iMatrix contract includes unrestricted raw-data export. No "data portability" upsell, no CSV-only lockdown. If you want your fleet's entire telemetry history as JSON tomorrow morning, it's a single API call — and it was free when you signed.

2. Hardware is a multi-year asset, not a subscription floor.

FleetConnect gateways routinely run five to seven years in the field. Neo sensors ship with replaceable batteries rated for 3+ years. We'd rather sell you hardware that outlasts your next contract cycle than force a refresh on our schedule.

3. Calibration is traceable, documented, and repeatable.

Every NIST-variant sensor carries an ISO 17025-traceable multi-point calibration certificate archived in iMatrix Cloud. Annual recalibration with prepaid shipping — the same certificate format your regulator and your customer's QA team accept.
