FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ZEPHYR COVE, Nev. — May 1, 2026

iMatrix Systems, Inc. today announced the general availability of Wayne AI™, the industry's first conversational fleet artificial intelligence purpose-built to operate across diesel, electric, hydrogen, and hybrid powertrains in a single platform. Wayne reads live CAN-bus signals from every vehicle, reasons over fault histories and route assignments, and answers operator questions in plain English — eliminating the multi-tool, multi-login workflow most fleet managers navigate today.

Most fleet AI platforms in the market were built for diesel and bolted on EV reporting later, or vice versa. Fleets running mixed powertrains end up with three logins, three dashboards, and three OEM-specific data formats — a problem that compounds as 2026 commercial fleets increasingly run blended diesel-EV-hydrogen operations under one dispatch and compliance umbrella. Wayne AI normalizes signals from any powertrain through iMatrix's CAN-bus auto-mapping engine, the same technology that compresses six to twelve months of manual J1939 reverse engineering into hours.

Plain-English Q&A across the entire fleet

Operators ask Wayne natural-language questions across the full fleet — "Which trucks are at risk of brake failure this week?", "What's the average state-of-charge on the EV fleet at 5 p.m.?", "Which vehicles need a DPF regen this run?" — and receive answers grounded in live telemetry, not generic statistics. Wayne reasons over diagnostic trouble codes, charge schedules, route assignments, driver behavior, and compliance windows, presenting findings in the same conversational interface used to ask the question.

"Wayne is the most experienced person in the yard, deployed at every yard your fleet operates from. We built Wayne for the operator who runs a depot of 50 diesel rigs, 20 EVs, and a handful of hydrogen tractors — because that's what every commercial fleet is going to look like in 2026 and beyond. The AI shouldn't care which powertrain you bought; it should care that you can answer your customer." — Greg Phillips, CEO and Founder, iMatrix Systems

Standard on FC-501. Available to FC-201 fleets via early access.

Wayne AI ships standard on iMatrix's FC-501 industrial gateway, the company's OEM-embedded telematics platform for vehicle manufacturers and system integrators. FC-501 deployments include the full Wayne AI capability set with no additional licensing fee. For commercial fleet customers running iMatrix's FC-201 plug-and-play OBD-II tracker on the Track or Command monthly plan, Wayne is available immediately via early-access program, with general availability on the FC-201 platform planned for late 2026.

Compliance reporting that runs itself

Wayne AI also automates compliance reporting that historically consumed hours of fleet-manager time per quarter — including California Air Resources Board (CARB) emissions reporting for the HVIP program, FSMA Sanitary Transport audit trails for refrigerated carriers, and FMCSA Hours-of-Service compliance summaries. Reports generate from the same live data Wayne reasons over conversationally, not a separate batch process or third-party tool.
