Which gateway reads your sensors, and how it reaches the cloud.

Every Neo sensor talks BLE. What differs between gateways is the backhaul — how the gateway gets those readings to iMatrix Cloud. If you have Wi-Fi at the site, use a Wi-Fi gateway. If you don't, use a cellular gateway that carries its own connection.

FC-101S-PRO Yes — BLE 5.4 sensor scanning Cellular (LTE) built in, via EdgeUplink eSIM. Carries its own connection. Sites and assets with no Wi-Fi — rooftops, yards, remote plant, trailers and containers. Solar powered, IP68.
FC-501 FleetConnect Edge Yes — BLE sensor bridging Cellular (LTE) built in, optional Starlink. Vehicles, mobile plant, and industrial installations that also need CAN bus and GNSS.
EdgeUplink 4G hotspot / router No — these have no BLE radio Cellular uplink that creates local Wi-Fi for a Micro Gateway or Series-1 to use. Adding connectivity to a Wi-Fi gateway at a site with no network of its own.
The distinction that trips people up: the Micro Gateway and Series-1 are Wi-Fi gateways — they read Neo sensors over BLE but have no cellular radio of their own. When you see "cellular" on our environmental pages it means one of two things: either a single-box cellular gateway (FC-101S-PRO, FC-501) that reads BLE and carries its own LTE connection, or a 4G hotspot/router that supplies Wi-Fi for one of the Wi-Fi gateways to sit on. Both get you to the cloud without site Wi-Fi; only the first is one device.
