iMatrix TelematicsCold ChainEnvironmental Sensors

Sensor → Gateway → Cloud

Three components, one continuous data stream. Every iMatrix environmental deployment works the same way — whether you're monitoring one vaccine fridge or a 50,000-square-foot warehouse.

What happens on day one

  1. Unbox. Sensor and Micro Gateway arrive with your iMatrix Cloud account pre-provisioned.
  2. Plug in the gateway. USB power — laptop, charger, or even a spare USB outlet on a shelf.
  3. Open the app. Web, iOS, or Android. Log in with your credentials.
  4. Add the sensor. Scan the QR code on the back, or add by serial number.
  5. Set alert thresholds. Temperature, humidity, door-open duration — whatever matters for your environment.
  6. Mount and mount. 3M adhesive or screws. Sensor starts transmitting on BLE.
  7. Watch. First reading lands in the cloud within minutes. Alerts trigger the moment conditions drift.

What happens on day 1000

Battery is still fine (3+ years typical). Firmware has updated via OTA several times without intervention. The sensor has stored and transmitted millions of readings. Your annual recalibration reminder fires for NIST variants. You export a signed PDF for the FDA inspector and they sign off in 20 minutes instead of 2 hours.

What if something goes wrong

Wi-Fi outage? Sensor keeps logging to on-device storage. When the gateway reconnects, readings backfill automatically.

Sensor battery drained? You get a low-battery alert weeks before it dies. Swap the battery, recalibrate if NIST, continue monitoring.

Gateway lost? Replace it from the catalog. Sensors auto-pair with any authorized gateway — no manual re-provisioning.
