Storing Vaccine

Vaccine storage is reliant on proper temperature and humidity to maintain the safety and effectiveness of the stores. The pharmaceutical industry loses billions of dollars annually because of spoiled temperature sensitive products. Whether these problematic conditions occur at on-site storage or during transport, they can be better managed.

The Neo sensor for vaccine storage isn’t like the other monitoring solutions many companies use. Traditional thermometers and hygrometers require staff to check and record their readings. Not only that, they don’t provide any alerts should conditions stray from optimal conditions. The Neo sensor takes care of what other monitoring tools don’t.

Use Case NEO for Storing Vaccine

How the Neo Changes Monitoring Vaccines

The iMatrix Neo sensor is a highly accurate monitoring solution for stored vaccines. Even more modern temperature loggers typically read temperatures only every five minutes. While that is a far greater amount than the two times daily required by the CDC, the Neo takes it several steps further. The Neo sensor for vaccines takes temperature and humidity readings every minute and automatically uploads the logs to the cloud.

Changing conditions can damage vaccines, even without staff realizing it. However, the Neo sensor allows you to set custom ranges of conditions- if the temperature or humidity go outside if the conditions you set, you’ll receive an alert right away. This puts you in control, and allows you to fix the issues before you lose valuable medicines. The Neo fits in even the smallest spaces, and takes virtually no time or effort to install and set up. It connects wirelessly through the iMatrix gateway at distances of up to 100 meters. Not only that, the Neo contains powerful batteries that last for three years.

Using the Neo to ship vaccines

The Neo sensor does everything you need to ensure that your vaccines stay safe and in the proper environment. However, one of the other problems facing the pharmaceutical industry is with cold chain shipping. The cold chain refers to the process of shipping temperature sensitive products. While refrigerated trucks and cargo areas are common, they can create issues. Should equipment fail, or work intermittently, vaccines can arrive and appear to be in good condition. Unfortunately, that isn’t a guarantee that the vaccines remained at that temperature throughout the entire transport.

The Neo is equally well suited to monitoring vaccines while they’re being shipped. This sensor goes in the storage containers, and continues monitoring conditions even without a wireless connection. Once the vaccines arrive at their destination, simply scan the barcode on the sensor. Then, you have a comprehensive log of all the minute to minute readings from start to finish.
